For SSAFA - Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen & Families Assoc.
Volunteer to help serving and ex-servicemen/women and their dependent's in times of need.
They may be retired, some disabled and some are lonely. They need help to remain independent, mobile and socially included.
You will be visiting them in their own homes, establishing their eligibility, needs and helping to meet those needs by contacting statutory bodies and local/national charities. Job satisfaction is very high and content varies from case to case.
The number of cases undertaken is flexible to suit your needs and other personal requirements. SSAFA casework can be combined with other interests and activities. This position would be based in the homes of residents who need help in Woking.
An interest in the armed forces is essential. Role is an advisory position, some assistance with basic financial issues may be required.
Initiative, determination, discretion /confidentiality, the ability to enjoy working with people.
Experience of the Services is useful but not essential.
Driving essential.
Training will be given.
Must be computer literate.
Minimum age 30 years.

Caseworker appointments can vary but the majority take place on weekdays between 9am and 5pm.
