For Byfleet Care (Community Action)
Using your own car you will provide essential transport for our elderly, disabled and housebound clients. Most are very chatty and interesting, and all very appreciative. Byfleet Care does not charge for its services, but donations cover the cost of fuel. Transport is needed for the local medical and social appointments, and to nearby hospitals. There is no regular commitment, you will be offered trips by telephone and are free to choose which to accept. Mileage is paid. Volunteers wait with the client at their destination and then take them safely back home.
Drivers are given a parking permit which allows free parking at hospitals and some public car parks. Please be aware that you may have to come and chat to a Volunteer Advisor at one of our centres before your details can be sent through for this opportunity.Full driving licence, own car
