This is where all of the surplus food and donations are delivered ready to be sorted and then packed for distribution.
This role involves: Picking stock and labelling orders for deliveries. Occasionally going on the van with the driver on a delivery. Sorting food and restocking shelves. Loading and unloading the van/deliveries. Heavy lifting (no more than 10KGs). Recording van temperatures and taking signatures on deliveries. Providing a high level of customer service to our member organisations. Representing FareShare Sussex and Surrey out in the community.
Skills helpful for this role: Punctuality and good time-keeping skills. Good customer service skills. Attention to detail. Team work. An understanding of Food Hygiene and Safety, not essential as we’ll offer training.
A commitment of one shift per week for a minimum of three months. Each shift is approximately 4 hours.
We will provide training and an induction.
