Our volunteers are an essential part of our organisation, enabling us to provide a wide breadth of services to our service users.  By helping the Hearing Loss team as a volunteer you can develop your communication and interpersonal skills. You will make a vital difference to the people you help by reducing their sense of loneliness and social isolation.

This role would suit someone wanting to volunteer on an ad hoc basis as the needs of our clients can fluctuate. In order to ensure a member of staff is available in case of a safeguarding concern, we ask that visits take place Mon-Fri between 9-5.

What skills do I need?

We are looking for people across Surrey to visit service users in their own homes to assist with technical/practical issues concerning various equipment such as telephones, TV aids and doorbells, (some in house training will be given).

You will be analytical, practical, confident with equipment and happy to troubleshoot common problems’ and have empathy with people who are Deaf, deafened or hard of hearing and occasionally combined sight and hearing loss.
