Woking Sea Cadets are looking for uniformed adult instructors to help with the ongoing progression of our successful and growing unit.  We are looking for a few new members of staff who are willing to give up some of their free time on Monday and Thursday evenings and some weekends to help us provide the best cadet experience we can for the youth of today.  This would be ideally suited for those individuals with ex-military experience, however military service is not essential as training will be given.

The Sea Cadets have a variety of activity available; water-based activities such as kayaking, rowing, sailing, powerboating and windsurfing; adventurous activities including climbing, mountain biking and D of E expeditions; and cadets also have the opportunity to gain a range of other skills including first aid, communications, marine engineering, catering and seamanship.

What skills do I need?

We need people with energy who are happy to roll up their sleeves, get involved, and make a positive difference to teenagers who are often struggling in today’s world.

The most important thing we look for is an interest in working with young people and helping them to shape their own futures.

Being mature, responsible and patient is also important, as is the ability to work in a team and to communicate effectively.  We also need people with good administrative, coaching and organisational skills.

Previous military experience is valued, but not essential as we offer a structured training programme, which can also include obtaining nationally recognised qualifications e.g. BCU Paddlesport Instructor.
