For Catalyst Support
Purpose of the Role Catalyst Support is seeking an experienced marketing leader to volunteer as Marketing Director for a fixed-term contribution. You will provide strategic direction, improve systems and processes, and mentor the current Marketing Manager to enable sustainable delivery. This role plays a pivotal part in driving marketing impact during a critical growth phase, particularly across target audiences, CSR, and income generation. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership • Lead the development and implementation of Catalyst’s marketing strategy. • Translate high-level marketing goals into actionable plans. • Guide prioritisation of campaigns and target audience messaging. 2. Process & Infrastructure Development • Implement streamlined planning and project management tools. • Review, recommend and oversee asset management and content planning systems. • Set up quarterly reporting and marketing ROI tracking aligned to board metrics. 3. Team Coaching & Mentoring • Work closely with the Marketing Manager to build confidence, capability, and consistency in delivery. • Offer constructive feedback on campaign planning, content development, and cross-team collaboration. • Support skills development in data-led decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and brand management. 4. Oversight of Key Marketing Initiatives • Guide audience segmentation and messaging, ensuring tailored communications for: o 18–30s o Minority and intersectional communities o Funders, commissioners, CSR leads • Support the roll-out of the Corporate CSR prospecting and engagement plan. • Contribute to stewardship planning and events strategy development. 5. Collaboration & Culture Building • Help embed consistent marketing processes across departments. • Drive a cultural shift from reactive delivery to structured, proactive planning. • Contribute to the development of a collaborative, insight-driven marketing function.
Skills & Experience Essential: • Senior-level experience in marketing, brand, and/or communications. • Strong project and people management skills. • Demonstrable success in mentoring junior staff and building team capacity. • Experience in the charity or non-profit sector (or demonstrable understanding of the service delivery landscape). • Familiarity with audience segmentation, marketing analytics, and digital channels.
