After four years of fantastic achievements & growth for our not for profit, we've realised it's time to get ready for the future. Toward the end of 2022, our company created a vision for how Blossom LGBT CIC will look within the next 5 years, this starts with a fresh company structure, additional support for volunteers, a rebrand, and way more.

On weekly basis we take over a local cafe in Woking to wreak rainbow mayhem… Oh sorry… to create a safe place for LGBTQ+ young adults (aged 18-30). We offer space to socialise, play games, and try out activities. There’s never any pressure to do anything you don’t want to do, you could just use the space to read a good book!

Our facilitators ensure the space is safe and fun, occasionally you'll also work with our attendees to signpost them to helpful services.

In this role you'll be responsible for running the Woking social group alongside our company management team, creating data monitoring processes for the group, working collaboratively to source funding for the group, planning activities, and looking after your volunteers.

You'll receive regular coaching & mentoring to support you to settle into the role and for a significant time we'll ensure a director of the company is with you to deliver these groups. You'll be expected to attend the weekly social group, with one week off a month.

What skills do I need?

We understand the barriers to LGBTQ+ people gaining appropriate experience and skills in leadership or management functionalities. We are dedicated to providing opportunities to grow. If you are passionate about one of our roles but do not currently have all of the skills, attributes & experience, we would still like to hear from you as we recruit on passion & potential - not just experience.

- Inspiring management and leadership skills including effective communication, a passion for development, coaching, change management, performance management, and upskilling. - Clear understanding of the expierences of LGBTQ+ people including those who are multiple marginalised. - Well organised with a forward thinking attitude. - Social & good verbal communication skills. - Enjoys having and creating fun!
