Steps2Work is a project supported by Woking Borough Council and Department of Work and Pensions, designed to equip 16–24-year-olds, not currently in employment or education and who are at particular risk of long-term unemployment, with the tools they need to find a job, training or further education that is suitable and sustainable for them.Provide support, motivation and encouragement to enable the mentee to achieve their potential. Mentors will meet with their mentees regularly, outside of the home e.g. going for a walk or to a café’. Mentors will be matched with mentees based on location, interests and experience.

Our personal, tailored approach means that each young person will be guided and supported with help and advice that meets their specific needs. We can offer information around SWAP’s and Apprenticeships, and host training and workshops on wellbeing, mental health, low self-esteem and confidence building.

Each young person will be matched with a trained Steps2Work Volunteer Mentor. They will provide 1:1 mentoring support to help motivate and inspire them to build a better future for themselves.

We are based at The Moorcroft Centre, Westfield, Woking
