Brooklands is the birthplace of British motor sport and aviation, and the home of Concorde. Brooklands comprises an unparalleled collection of aircraft, racing cars and motorcycles all displayed in and around the historic buildings on the site where many were originally built. Brooklands is unique and opens every day with the support of an award-winning team of volunteers.
What does the role involve?
• Providing a friendly welcome to visitors of all backgrounds, ages and abilities.
• Helping visitors to understand the exhibits, thereby enriching their visit.
• Monitoring against theft and accidental damage.
• Become familiar with fire escape routes to assist Museum staff with leading visitors to a place of safety in the event of an activation.
• Undertaking other appropriate assistance in relation to room stewarding as may be reasonably requested by Brooklands Museum staff.
• Maintaining good working relationships with staff and other volunteers.
• Complying with the Brooklands Health and Safety and Safeguarding Policies and operate with a regard for good environmental practice.
Our stewards engage with our visitors in the exhibition areas and provide a very bespoke service, their interaction with our visitors is what makes Brooklands so special and why our visitors enjoy their day so much and keep coming back. They also provide a watchful presence to ensure the exhibits are safe from theft and accidental damage.

This position is of a voluntary flexible nature and should fit around your diary. Ideally you should be able to commit to a regular slot of at least once a month (12 shifts per year).
