For St Paul's Church
The role is to support the Toddler Group Leader and be part of the team in running the weekly toddler group:
- Helping to set up the rooms with toys and equipment to be safe and welcoming for children and parents/carers
- Chatting to parents/carers, being a friendly face and a listening ear and giving non-judgemental encouragement
- Joining in with song time
- Helping to clear away at the end and leaving the rooms tidy
Some basic understanding of child development, parenting skills and common additional needs is helpful, but primarily the ability to communicate well with children and carers. A welcoming and non-judgemental attitude towards children and parents/carers from diverse backgrounds is essential.
