We are looking for volunteers to make a difference to the lives of young people by assisting in providing activities and support for children and young people between 11-19 years old. Encourage young people to get involved in a range of activities and be willing to actively take part.

as a volunteer youth worker you will assisting Youth Workers too: • To help set up and tidy away activities. • To support staff members or other volunteers in activities. • Encourage children and young people to participate and engage in activities.

This role will be subject to an approved Enhanced DBS and Barring Disclosure check.

What skills do I need?

We need volunteers who: • Are passionate about working with children and young people. • Can establish positive relationships with children and young people and be a positive role model. • are clear communicators and have the ability to start a conversation with young people • Engage young people in games and small group work • Ability to build professional relationships • Ability to multi task • Able to meet the needs of young people • Can work with children and young people with diverse needs in small and large groups. • Are creative, enthusiastic, confident and resilient. • Will adhere to policies and procedures at all times with particular emphasis on equality and diversity, health and safety and safeguarding.

Availability Details

Woking youth currently runs two, two hour, Youth Drop in sessions on a Monday between 7.15pm -9.15pm in Knaphill and Wednesday between 6.30pm - 8.30pm on the Sythwood estate. if possible we ask Volunteers to be available 30 minutes before and after sessions for helping set up and pack down as well as session monitoring
