For Royal Surrey County Hospital
Ward Volunteers responsible to the Sister on Ward. Duties would include listening to and chatting with patients, reading and writing letters for patients, stocking trolleys, collecting prescriptions from Pharmacy, making drinks as requested by staff, looking after plants/flowers in the ward, assisting with clerical duties and tidying tops of lockers and bedside tables. Good verbal communication skills and the ability to relate with people on a one-to-one basis. The hours are between 9.00am and 4.00pm You would need to be fit and active as ward volunteering can entail standing or walking for several hours at a time. Volunteers must over 18
Please note: Unfortunately this opportunity can not help with short work placements or shadowing. This is a volunteering role.
